President unveils more resort development for Thaa Atoll in his term

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced development of additional resort infrastructure in Thaa Atoll. He made the statement during the "Raees ge Javaab" series, a platform facilitating direct engagement between the President and the public on various issues.

Responding to concerns raised by Ahmed Rifaz from Veymandhoo, Thaa Atoll, about the lack of resorts in the area, President Dr. Muizzu emphasised the importance of providing income opportunities, particularly for the youth, in the tourism sector.

Acknowledging there is currently only one resort in Thaa Atoll, President he outlined his commitment to increasing the number of resorts in the atoll during his term. He highlighted plans for the development of two more resorts in Thaa Atoll to enhance connectivity, alongside efforts to expedite the development of Velana International Airport (VIA).

Assuring the youth of income opportunities from nearby resorts, President Dr. Muizzu pledged to facilitate economic growth in Thaa Atoll and other regions of the country.

Furthermore, President Dr. Muizzu expressed confidence the economic changes would attract more investors, thereby contributing to overall economic development. He also said that the initiative reflects the government's efforts to stimulate tourism and economic growth, particularly in regions with untapped potential like Thaa Atoll.
