MMPRC showcases Maldives at EMITT 2024 in Türkiye

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), has showcased Maldives in the East Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (EMITT) 2024 in Türkiye. The event, held at the Tuyap Fair and Congress Centre in Istanbul from February 6-9 serves as a prime platform for 19 representatives from 12 Maldivian tourism companies. They are showcasing their properties, services, and unique offerings to a discerning market.

EMITT stands out as one of the premier travel trade shows in the East Mediterranean, offering an ideal stage to position the Maldives as the top choice for holiday destinations in the region. With increasing direct connectivity to the Maldives, the market potential is on the rise, reflected in growing arrival numbers. MMPRC's participation aligns with strategic objectives, focusing on source markets and reinforcing destination presence, creating opportunities for industry partners to highlight their products and experiences in the Sunny Side of Life.

Globally attended, EMITT features tourism representatives presenting diverse products and services to the Turkish market. During the exhibition, the goal is to engage with various agents and buyers, disseminating information about the destination's major segments.

The Turkish market holds significant promise for the Maldives, ranking 24th as a source market in 2023 with 12,856 tourist arrivals. Notably, the official visit by the President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, to Türkiye further strengthened bilateral ties. This landmark visit laid the foundation for a comprehensive partnership, evidenced by trade-focused agreements and improved flight connectivity between the two nations, facilitating the influx of tourists from this burgeoning market.
