Economic expansion initiatives prioritised anticipating positive outcomes

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has affirmed the ongoing efforts to enhance the economy will be the most extensive and rapid in the country's history, with tangible results expected soon.

Speaking to residents of Dhiyamigili, Thaa Atoll, President Dr. Muizzu expressed his commitment to working closely with the people, seeking their consultation to address the pressing developmental needs of the islands. Despite acknowledging the challenges posed by the current economic situation, he assured the public that his administration is dedicated to overcoming obstacles and delivering improvements.

Highlighting the economic impediments inherited from the previous government, President Dr. Muizzu underlined the urgency of the comprehensive economic initiatives already underway. He stressed the expectation of improved economic conditions and increased revenue for rural development needs in the near future.

The President addressed the gravity of the economic situation transparently, assuring citizens that he aims to enrich every individual and strengthen economic prowess collectively. He envisioned the creation of new businesses, expansion of existing enterprises, and increased investments in the Maldives through collaborative economic activities.

Focusing on Dhiyamigili, President Dr. Muizzu directed the council and ministries to collaborate in meeting the island's developmental needs. He revealed plans for major projects, including the ambitious causeway connecting Dhiyamigili and Madifushi, with the initiation dependent on economic improvements.

Acknowledging international recognition for his economic initiatives, the President expressed confidence in receiving assistance from financial institutions. He reiterated his commitment to delivering on promised projects, including road construction, and assured the resumption of all halted and planned developmental endeavors for the island.

While recognising the economic challenges, President Dr. Muizzu called on the community to collaborate with government offices to prioritize developmental needs. He assured that most projects could commence within the year, emphasising a proactive approach to fostering development in line with the nation's economic trajectory.
