Essential services ensured sespite closure of last 10 days of Ramadan

In a directive issued today, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has declared the closure of Government offices for the last ten days of Ramadan, commencing on the 20th day of the holy month. The decision, outlined in the President's Office Directive 02/2024, aligns with the President's commitment to promoting Islamic values and encouraging active participation in religious practices.

The directive mandates government authorities to ensure the provision of essential services to the public during this period. It also instructs them to disseminate specific information regarding operating hours, emphasising transparency and accessibility for citizens.

In line with the President's dedication to fostering religious observances, the closure of government offices during the concluding ten days of Ramadan has become an annual tradition, starting this year. This move underscores the importance of enabling citizens to prioritize their religious commitments during this sacred period.

To facilitate the smooth delivery of essential services, the President's Office has engaged in discussions with relevant authorities to strategize logistics for the final ten days of Ramadan. The President's Office has urged these authorities to utilize various communication channels to inform the public about the temporary adjustments, ensuring a seamless transition during this period of office closure.
