Islamic ministry provides English translation of Friday sermons

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has begun printing English translations of Friday Sermons and distributing the booklets to Muslim expatriates.

In a social media post, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed said that the Friday sermons are now available for expatriates in the Maldives. He also highlighted the importance of providing accurate religious information to Muslims, noting that Islam is a universal message.

The Islamic ministry stated that the Friday sermons are not being translated into English by a foreign party and is instead being done by ministry officials. The ministry will also make the translations available online.

The Islamic ministry has stated that making the English translations available will spread awareness and increase the reverence for the principles of Islam. The ministry also stated that the translations will be especially helpful for expatriates living in the Maldives.
