MMPRC promotes Maldives at Fitur 2024

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) along with 22 industry partners is promoting the Maldives at the first trade fair for the year, Fitur 2024. The event is being held in Madrid, Spain from January 24-28.

Fitur holds significant importance for tourism professionals and the inbound and outbound markets in Ibero-America. It facilitates a platform for the industry partners to showcase their unique products, services and experiences to a huge audience.

MMPRC stated that the participation in the event aligns with its strategies as part of strengthening the Maldives brand and establishing strong connections with the travel agents from leading markets in the region. It also provides numerous opportunities to promote the unique experiences available in the Maldives and the corporation's tourism products, in relation to the unique nature of the destination. Fitur 2024 provides a huge platform to disseminate the latest information of the Maldives and for individual properties featuring their new products and services.

MMPRC stated that the Maldives' stand at the fair reflects the aspects of luxury, romance, adventure, surf, and cultural tourism. The overall stand portrays the diverse experiences of the Maldives through visuals and videos showcased on LED screens.

Spain was the ninth top source market for the Maldives in 2023. The Maldives reached pre-pandemic arrival numbers from Spain last year, contributing significantly to the tourism sector. MMPRC is consistently promoting the destination in the market through various marketing activities. As such, participation in events such as the largest travel trade fair in the region holds immense importance to the Maldives, maintaining momentum from the preceding year.
