Gov't vows to support growth of Maldivian artists

Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal has reassured that the government is committed to supporting the growth of Maldivian artists and will not take any actions detrimental to their interests. He made the remarks in response to public concerns regarding the limited opportunities for local artists.

Speaking to PSM News, Minister Faisal emphasised the government's dedication to prioritising the development of Maldivian artistic talent. He underscored that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's administration ensures a proactive approach to fostering the growth of Maldivian artists. He also said that the government is steadfast in its commitment to not harm the interests of the local artistic community.

Additionally, Minister Faisal highlighted President Dr. Muizzu's goal to create opportunities for Maldivian artists within the tourism sector. He announced plans to engage with relevant authorities in the coming days to address concerns raised, stating his intention to collaborate with the President's guidance to find effective solutions.

President Dr. Muizzu affirmed the government's commitment to the development of Maldivian artists, recognising the talent and interests of local youth in various fields. He disclosed that the government has reserved employment opportunities in 21 sectors, with a particular focus on roles connected to the tourism sector, to support the artistic aspirations of the nation's youth.
