Immigration simplifies application for medical emergencies

The Maldives Immigration has streamlined the application process for medical emergencies and citizens aged 65 and above.

Immigration stated that the change aligns with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's decision to prioritise comprehensive services for Maldivian citizens in the event of a medical emergency. As such, individuals facing a medical crisis abroad and those aged 65 and above can apply for a passport, which is effective from January 21 onwards.

Applicants for passports in medical emergencies will receive assistance from Immigration, including passport photography services. The service will be available from 0830 to 1700hrs for citizens aged 65 and above.

Immigration emphasises that the objective is to enhance services by ensuring prompt and convenient assistance to the citizens.
