Over 50,000 arrivals in the first nine days of 2024

The Ministry of Tourism has revealed that more 50,000 tourists visited the Maldives in the first nine days of 2024.

The latest statistics published by the tourism ministry shows that 50,983 tourists visited the Maldives during the first nine days of this year, which is an increase of 6.4% compared to the 47,931 tourists during the same period in 2023. A total of 43,079 tourists visited the Maldives during the same period in 2022.

The statistics show that the largest number of tourists during the first nine days this year, visited from Russia with 7,601 arrivals while 7,204 tourists visited from Italy, 3,791 visited from India, 3,753 tourists visited from the United Kingdom (UK), and 3,178 visited from Germany. In addition, a total of 1,140 tourist establishments are open in the Maldives, consisting of 61,273 beds. They include resorts, hotels, guesthouses, and liveaboards.

The statistics show that the highest daily tourist visits were recorded on January 2, with 6,640 tourists visiting the Maldivs on that day. The Maldives sees an average of 5,665 arrivals daily with tourists staying for 8.1 days in the country.
