Nationalism to be taught in schools in new academic year

The government has announced that the work to introduce nationalism as a subject in government schools in the new academic year is progressing according to the timeline.

At a press conference, Principal Secretary to the President Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim said preparations are being made to introduce nationalism as a subject in the new academic year. He also said that Cabinet has decided to conduct the work to include nationalism in the national curriculum in collaboration with the President's Office.

Additionally, the Cabinet discussed the measures to be taken to celebrate Islamic holidays in the Maldives at the national level. They also discussed the preparations for the month of Ramadan, celebrating the month in a colorful manner, as well as holding celebrations for the two Eids and the day when the Maldives embraced Islam.
