Vice President visits Male' homes impacted by floods

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has visited households in Male' City affected by heavy rainfall and floods.

The heavy rainfall led to flooding in various areas of Male' and prompted visits from Vice President Latheef who was accompanied by Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan, to inspect damage and check on the well-being of residents. In addition, various other government officials visited homes to evaluate the conditions of the affected individuals.

In response to the flooding, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has extended assistance to 144 households in Male'. As part of the relief efforts, the NDMA reported the placement of sandbags at the entrances of 91 households to mitigate the entering of floodwater. Furthermore, temporary shelter and food have been provided to 57 individuals from eight households as immediate support measures.
