President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated Tshering Tobgay, following his election as the next Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bhutan.
In the message, President Dr. Muizzu expressed confidence that Bhutan would attain additional advancement under the leadership of Prime Minister Tshering. He stated that he looks forward to working closely with the Prime Minister-elect to enhance and strengthen the close relations between the two countries.
President Dr. Muizzu additionally highlighted on the Maldives and Bhutan's strong bilateral relations based on mutual trust and goodwill, and wished for the friendly relations between the Maldives and Bhutan to continue flourishing in the years ahead.
Bhutan’s liberal People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Tshering Tobgay, 58, was the prime minister from 2013 to 2018 and he is set to become the new premier for a second five-year term.
