Police to take action against illegally parked vehicles

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has decided to take action against illegally parked vehicles.

In a statement, MPS urged drivers to park in designated parking zones and to avoid parking heavy vehicles on busy streets in Male' City. As such, the police service instructed drivers to park in the designated parking zones in the green zone, Salman Mosque area, and the Boduthakurufaanu Magu.

Additionally, MPS noted that schools are scheduled to open on January 7 and requested drivers to remove vehicles parked in front of the school gates. From January 7, more police officers will be deployed to control traffic control and ensure public safety near schools, hospitals, and other busy areas.
