Islamic Knowledge programme inaugurated

Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has stated that the Islaamee Risalat programme will continue to build a generation that is knowledgeable on the pillars of Islam for the next few years.

Minister Shaheem made the remark at the ceremony to inaugurate the Islamic Knowledge programme. The programme will be conducted by the Islamic Ministry to educate the youth and all citizens on the Islamic faith. The programme aims to strengthen the faith in the public and build a generation that is knowledge on the core principles of Islam.

The programme will include important lessons on prayer, Zakat, fasting, Hajj pilgrimage and faith. These lessons will be delivered in sermons in mosques and Important information will also be shared in media programmes, forums, seminars and through social media. Participants will also be chosen for Umrah pilgrimage tours in Mecca and Medina. School exhibitions, fairs and competitions related to the programme.

At the inauguration ceremony, Minister Shaheem said the programme will be conducted throughout the country this year. He said the first phase of the programme will focus on the pillars of Islam and the important lessons for the Muslim community. He highlighted the importance of such a programme for strengthening the faith of citizens, especially the youth.

Additionally, Minister Shaheem said the programme is aimed at teachers, students and all members of the community. As such, he said that the programme is also tailored to children. He also said the programme aims to create a generation that is united in its reverence for Islam and adheres to the five obligatory prayers and praying in congregation.
