Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan has revealed that authorities have seized USD357,000 worth of drugs and alcohol within two weeks.
In a post on X, Minister Ihusaan said the contraband were seized by a joint taskforce consisting of the Maldives Police Service (MPS), Maldives Customs Service, Maldives Immigration, and Maldives Correctional Service.
Minister Ihusaan said the taskforce was established with the specific guidance of the President and that 53 expatriates have been detained in the operation.
