Two major generals retire from MNDF

Major General Wais Waheed and Major General Hamid Shafeeg have retired after serving over 30 years in the Maldivian National Defence Force (MNDF).

Major General Waheed, who joined the MNDF on June 19, 1989, retired after a 34-year tenure. He held the position of Commanding Officer of MNDF Marine Corps and Commanding Officer at the College of Defense and Security Studies at the time of his retirement. Similarly, Major General Shafeeg, who joined the MNDF on March 11, 1990, retired after dedicating 33 years to the force, serving as the Commandant of MNDF Service Corps.

Both officers assumed various roles and responsibilities within the force. The MNDF also commended the both of them for their unwavering dedication and sincere military service.
