President calls for renewed commitment to SAARC Charter principles

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called for a renewed commitment to the principles of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Charter. He made the remark in a message on the occasion of the 39th SAARC Charter Day. The SAARC Charter Day is celebrated every year on December 8.

In his message, President Muizzu stressed the importance of reflecting on the principles and values of regional cooperation, promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in South Asia. He also said that the SAARC has been crucial in addressing regional challenges and advancing shared goals.

President Muizzu also called upon renewed commitment to the principles of the Charter and increased cooperation in developing a more interconnected and resilient South Asia.
