ACC pledges support to build better generation

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has assured that it will give its full support to the government's initiative to build a generation that has a love for the nation and religion. The remark was made by President of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Adam Shamil at the ceremony held to mark this year’s International Anti-Corruption Day.

Speaking at the function, ACC President Shamil expressed his belief that the government's initiative to build a younger generation that has a love of religion and country would result in a huge step forward in eliminating or reducing corruption. He said that the ACC will share information on what the government needs to implement to strengthen the efforts to build religious and national unity.

Additionally, Shamil expressed confidence of the initiative, as President Muizzu has already shown his commitment to fighting corruption through his actions. He also highlighted the current work of the ACC and expressed hope that the government would find solutions to the problems it is facing.

As such, Shamil said that the main issue is the lack of a budget and recruiting legal professionals. He said the ACC prioritised training professionals and formulating amendments to the Anti-Corruption Commission Act this year. He added that the ACC had sought the assistance of international organisations in their work.

Furthermore, Shamil shared his experience during his short tenure as President of the ACC. He noted that the transition of government had been particularly challenging, adding that the transitional work was conducted within the legal framework.
