Maldives National University (MNU) and Venza Company Private Limited have signed a contract for the construction of an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) facility in Fuvahmulah City.
Under the agreement, the construction of the facility in Fuvahmulah is expected to be completed within 30 months. The facility will serve as a hub for various educational programmes and training initiatives in the field of information technology (IT).
During the signing ceremony, Vice Chancellor of MNU Dr. Aishath Shehenaz Adam expressed the ICT facility will be used for the delivery of diverse courses and programmes in the IT field. She outlined the facility's infrastructure will encompass classrooms, a laboratory, and a student hall and housed within a three-story building designed to accommodate 21 students.
Moreover, Dr. Shehenaz noted the high demand for IT programmes in higher education throughout the Maldives. She indicated ongoing efforts to extend the courses to reach the entire country, underscoring the significance of expanding educational opportunities in the IT field.
