The President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser has paid a courtesy call to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in the UAE during the Twenty-Eighth Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
In their meeting, they explored avenues for close collaboration in mutually beneficial areas, with a primary focus on advancing the growth of the Islamic financial sector. Initiatives such as the construction of a Zakat House, a Waqf programme, and the establishment of a Microfinance Bank were discussed as potential areas of cooperation.
President Dr. Muizzu shared details of the renewable energy target announced during his address at COP28, emphasising the importance of adaptation projects and infrastructure development to enhance climate resilience.
