President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed confidence that the Maldives-Türkiye relations have been strengthened. He made the remark after concluding his official trip to Türkiye.
In a post on X, President Muizzu said he is confident that this new chapter of Maldives-Türkiye relations will result in strengthened and broader cooperation in a far wider range of areas. He expressed appreciation to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the leadership of Türkiye for the special consideration that is accorded to the Maldives.
During the visit, President Muizzu met with President Erdoğan and various senior government officials of Türkiye and discussed avenues to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest. President Muizzu and President Erdoğan also oversaw the signing of the Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation Between the Maldives and Türkiye.
