Maldives and Türkiye discuss increasing cooperation in tech

The Maldives and Türkiye have discussed increasing cooperation in the fields of agriculture, high technology and tourism. The discussion was held during a meeting between the Chairman and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Professor Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş, and President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu at the Parliament Building in Ankara.

During the meeting, the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly offered felicitations to President Muizzu on his assumption of office. They highlighted the longstanding bilateral relations between the Maldives and Türkiye.

Additionally, the President and the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly expressed interest in working closely to discuss matters of mutual interest, particularly enhancing engagement between the two Parliaments and further promoting the excellent relations between the Maldives and Türkiye. They also discussed cooperation between the Maldives and Türkiye in the fields of agriculture, high technology and tourism.

Furthermore, the Speaker commended the Maldives' stance on the Israeli aggression against the people of Palestine and praised the Maldives for supporting an immediate ceasefire at the UN. Concluding the call, President Muizzu and the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly expressed their hope that the Maldives- Türkiye partnership would reach greater heights under President Muizzu’s tenure.
