Foreign Minister meets ambassadors from China, India

Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer has met the High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, Munu Mahawar, and Ambassador of China to the Maldives Wang Lixin.

During the meeting with High Commissioner Mahawar, Minister Zameer discussed enhancing the longstanding cooperation between the Maldives and India across various fronts including the enduring partnership in developmental projects.
India has provided assistance in commencing major infrastructure projects in the Maldives, including the development of the Thilamale' Bridge, Hanimaadhoo International Airport, Hankede Bridge, and the development of roads in Addu City.

During the meeting with Ambassador Lixin, Minister Zameer discussed areas to further enhance friendly relations and cooperation between the Maldives and China in areas of mutual interest. China has greatly assisted in the economic development of the Maldives with the construction of the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge and the development of the Hiya housing project in Hulhumale' Phase II.

Minister Zameer also held a meeting with Ambassador of Japan Tekeuchi Midori in which they discussed shared goals, strengthening the existing bilateral ties, and exploring avenues for further collaboration. They also expressed appreciation for the enduring friendship between two countries.
