President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed eight members to top government positions. The ceremony to present the letters of appointment was held at the President’s Office.
The Minister-level appointments and recipients of letters of appointment are Iqbal Adam as the Minister at the Presidential Palace and Mohamed Hussain Shareef as the Ambassador-at-large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The appointments to the University governance board include Dr. Mahmood Shaugy as the Chancellor at the Maldives National University (MNU), Dr. Aishath Shehenaz Adam as the Vice Chancellor at the Maldives National University (MNU) and Dr. Ali Zahir as the Vice Chancellor at the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).
The appointments made at the State Minister-level are Mohamed Waheed Hassan as the Chief of Staff at the Vice President's Residence, Dr. Mohamed Kinaanath as the Head of the National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) under the Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology, and Mohamed Sham’aan Waheed as the Controller General of Immigration.
