Pakistan and Maldives explore commencing direct flights

The Maldives and Pakistan have discussed commencing direct flights between the two countries. The discussion was held between President Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed Muizzu and Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs of Pakistan Murtaza Solangi.

During the meeting, Minister Solangi congratulated President Muizzu on his assumption of office, characterising his inaugural address as powerful and incredibly inspirational. He expressed enthusiasm and anticipation for President Muizzu’s policies to grow the Maldivian economy. He additionally emphasised the desire to improve the bilateral relations between the Maldives and Pakistan.

Additionally, Minister Solangi praised the Maldives' achievements when President Muizzu was the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure. He also conveyed eagerness to collaborate and explore the prospects of both nations and appealed for more direct flights between the two countries. He reiterated his optimism that the Maldives will have a bright future under President Dr Muizzu’s leadership.

Concluding the call, President Muizzu and Minister Solangi expressed their hope for additional collaboration, strengthening bilateral relations and establishing further cooperation.
