The Maldives and Japan have expressed their commitment to strengthening relations. The discussion was held during a meeting between President Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed Muizzu and Komura Masahiro, the Special Envoy of the Japanese Prime Minister and Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, President Muizzu and Parliamentary Vice-Minister Masahiro emphasised the long-standing relations between the Maldives and Japan, recalling some of the cooperative developmental projects undertaken by Japanese assistance in the Maldives. The President also spoke on investment opportunities in the Maldives and potential collaborations in this realm.
Additionally, President Muizzu expressed his hope for additional collaboration, strengthening the existing relations and establishing further cooperation. The special envoy reiterated Japan’s dedication to fortifying the bilateral ties between the two nations.
