President-elect urges collaboration for peace, progress of Maldives

President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called for collaborative efforts to ensure peace and progress in the country. He made the remarks in a special message delivered on the occasion of the Republic Day of the Maldives.

Addressing the nation on the 55th Republic Day, President-elect Dr. Muizzu expressed that the true essence of a republic can only be savoured when the collective interest of the nation takes precedence. He urged both the citizens and the government to join forces in order to experience the benefits of the shared endeavour. He also expressed his gratitude to former presidents, cabinet ministers, business leaders, political party officials, and all those who have contributed to the development of the republican system.

The swearing-in ceremony of Muizzu as the seventh President of the Maldives is scheduled for November 17.
