Invitations have been sent to foreign dignitaries for the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The Office of the President-elect stated that invitations have been sent to all neighbouring nations and countries that have established diplomatic relations with the Maldives. The delegation which will arrive for the swearing-in ceremony will be determined by the respective countries.
The swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Muizzu is scheduled to take place at 1645hrs on November 17 at Republic Square in Male' City. However, the venue will be moved to the Parliament building if the weather worsens. Around 3,500 dignitaries will be invited to the swearing-in ceremony, along with 1,000 members of the public.
President-elect Muizzu requested that the swearing-in ceremony be held at Republic Square to allow as many people as possible to view the function. As such, the ceremony is expected to host the most guests compared to other such functions.
