Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has stated that it is taking action to stop any irreparable damage during the transfer of government.
In a press release, ACC stated that it is suspending some activities of government institutions and state-owned companies as it is conducting investigations into complaints filed in connection with them. The commission is also taking action to prevent any irreparable damage to the state and the public, given the allegations contained in the cases.
Additionally, ACC stated that such notices are temporary and can be altered based on the progress of the investigations. ACC highlighted that it has not instructed the institutions to stop providing basic services to the public or stop administration operations. The commission added that it is prioritising completing the investigations as soon as possible.
ACC has been issuing notices to some state-owned companies to suspend some of its activities. The commission has also instruction state institutions, government agencies, offices, and companies to uphold certain policies to reduce the incentives for corruption during the transitional phase.
