Director General of Transition Abdul Raheem Abdulla has stated that the new administration will bring positive changes without wasting time.
Speaking on a programme aired by the Public Service Media (PSM) regarding the new administration's policies, Abdul Raheem said that President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is well-prepared to implement his plans efficiently. He said the president-elect has carefully researched the problems in the country and is ready to begin resolving them as soon as he assumes office, adding that citizens will get to see an administration that can quickly fulfil its pledges and bring positive changes.
Additionally, Abdul Raheem said the new administration will not waste time formulating plans, as President-elect Muizzu is a type of leader who is diligent and decisive. He assured that the new administration will execute a plan that encompasses all parts of the country and achieve results in its first 100 days.
Furthermore, Abdul Raheem said that the transitional committees have identified the most problems at Fenaka Corporation Limited, which has created numerous jobs for political purposes. He noted that Fenaka had 2,600 employees at the conclusion of President Abdulla Yameen's administration in 2018, but the number of employees have now reached 8,000. Likewise, he detailed that some small islands have 60 employees, with many not even required to go to the office. He expressed concern that the creation of unnecessary jobs will lead to challenges for the new administration during the restructuring process.
Moreover, Abdul Raheem said the current government has given its cooperation during the transitional phase. He added that the transitional committees are now compiling their reports and requested the Auditor General's Office (AGO) to audit Fenaka and several other state-owned companies.
