The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) has affirmed its intent to take legal action against state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and their subsidiaries if discovered discarding official documents unlawfully.
In a circular, PCB noted instances of SOEs and their subsidiaries destroying official documents, prompting the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to request preventive legal measures.
Additionally, PCB stated that SOEs and their subsidiaries must adhere to the National Archives Act, informing the Director General of the National Archives before disposing of official documents, photographs, charts, records and information, ensuring compliance with the law. PCB also stated that boards of directors and management of SOEs are urged to verify compliance.
Furthermore, PCB warns of legal consequences for SOEs found unlawfully discarding official documents, expressing its commitment to taking action based on reports of violations of laws and regulations.
