The Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) has decided to extend the period for donations to the Palestine Relief Fund until November 12, due to the rapidly deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip and due to public appeal.
In a press release, MRC stated that it will be initiating the process to transfer the funds collected as of October 28 to the Palestine Red Crescent Society due to the overwhelming crisis and the immediate need to provide humanitarian services. The funds will be directed to the Preliminary Emergency Appeal launched by the Palestine Red Crescent Society, which is targeted towards the delivery of humanitarian assistance, such as critical health services, fuel, and essential supplies for the operation of humanitarian facilities, transfer of the sick and wounded, provision of clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, shelter, basic relief items including food, clothing, and household essentials.
MRC appealed to the Maldivian community to continue their support towards the Palestine Relief Fund and to support the dedicated efforts of the Palestine Red Crescent Society which is working tirelessly on the front lines.
