The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and the Maldives Police Service (MPS) have jointly initiated a training programme for the bus drivers and assistants of the Raajje Transport Link (RTL).
The training programme is scheduled to run until November 5 and is focused on providing comprehensive information about road traffic laws and regulations. The participants will receive training on road safety measures, emphasising actions to ensure the safety of both the driver and other road users. The programme will also cover bus travel regulations, guidelines for trip preparation, and procedures to be followed in the event of an accident.
The collaborative effort between MPS and MTCC is part of a series of programmes aimed at improving safety in the provision of bus services as public transport. The primary objectives of the programme include reducing accidents and fostering a secure working environment for bus drivers.
