Ibrahim Manik behind many broadcasting developments: Gov't

Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated that the late Ibrahim Manik was behind many developments in the Maldivian broadcasting industry. He made the remark at the memorial service held by the Maldives Broadcasting Service (MBS) for Ibrahim Manik, who served in broadcasting for over 27 years.

During the ceremony, Vice President Naseem lauded Ibrahim Manik as a pioneer who made outstanding contributions to the broadcasting industry in the Maldives, noting that he had introduced many services still in use today. He added that he should be given more credit as he prioritised developing skilled individuals who currently work in the industry.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Abbas Ibrahim said Ibrahim Manik was an extraordinary person. In addition, Abbas said Ibrahim Manik maintained close ties with family and friends until the last day.

Ibrahim Manik passed away at the age of 72 on November 30, 2022, while undergoing medical treatment in Bangalore, India. He spent most of his career in the broadcasting industry and contributed to its development while being heavily involved in a variety of popular programmes on Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu and Television Maldives (TVM).
