Leadership roles designated for women and youth: The Democrats

The Interim Council of The Democrats has announced its intention to elect women and youth to designated positions within the party, spanning every atoll and island in the country.

Speaking on behalf of the council, Mohamed Basheer disclosed the establishment of an election committee tasked with electing individuals for the party's upcoming term. He highlighted that a significant amount of leadership roles within the party have been designated specifically for women and youth. He also said that The Democrats will not have the traditional constituency executive committee model, opting instead for a constituency president.

The Democrats stated that any individual joining before November 15 will be eligible to contest for the leadership roles.
