The Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) has opened an emergency fund to donate to the Palestine Red Crescent, which has called upon the international community and movement partners for intervention to prevent the humanitarian catastrophe that is unfolding in the Gaza Strip.
In a press release, MRC urged Maldivians to donate and support the response and relief efforts carried out by the Palestine Red Crescent, amidst the rapidly escalating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. The funds raised will be directed towards the delivery of humanitarian assistance, such as the provision of first aid and health services, fuel, and essential supplies for the operation of humanitarian facilities, as well as the transfer of the sick and wounded.
The funds will also be used for the provision of clean water, sanitation, hygiene, shelter, and basic relief items including food, clothing, and household essentials, as well as the protection and community engagement to the most vulnerable. The donations to the MRC emergency fund will be collected until October 28.
