Maldives wins 31 awards at SATA 2023

The Maldives has won 31 awards at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Bengaluru, India. It is one of the most prestigious awards in the tourism sector in the South Asian region.

This year's awards ceremony witnessed multiple properties in the Maldives tourism sector securing 31 awards, including 14 gold and 17 silver accolades. Among the awards, the Maldives earned the title of Leading Beach Destination at the Visitors' Choice Awards, an accolade determined by public preferences and opinions.

Additionally, the ceremony honored four individuals with the Faces of South Asia Award for their significant contributions to the tourism sector. Among the awardees were two Maldivians, including Mohamed Umar Manik, a prominent figure in the Maldivian tourism sector, and Chairman of Hotels and Construction Private Limited Mohamed Ali Janah.

SATA 2023 witnessed a competitive field with six South Asian countries, consisting of India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and the Maldives.
