MPS to issue caution notices for speeding on Sinamale' Bridge

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has decided to issue cautionary notices to individuals who exceed the speed limit on the Sinamale' Bridge.

According to MPS, these caution notices will remind the public not to exceed the specified speed limit on the bridge and to refrain from making unauthorised lane changes. The notices will be sent to the mobile numbers linked to registered vehicles, detailing the date and time of the violation. MPS has also stated the installation of speed cameras in the bridge area to identify violations.

MPS urges the public driving at excessive speeds to adhere to the designated speed limit. The measure has been implemented to safeguard the well-being of individuals navigating the bridge, aligning with commitment to ensuring road safety. Notably, MPS has stated that this year has witnessed several accidents on the bridge.
