The Office of the President-elect has been allocated space from the building of the State Electric Company Limited (STELCO). The office was established on October 5 and aims to assist the President-elect in carrying out his duties and responsibilities during the government transition.
The Civil Services Commission (CSC) has appointed Abdul Raheem Abdulla as the Director-General of Transition under the Presidential Transition Act. The Director-General is tasked with overseeing all matters related to the government transition. In addition, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had assigned Secretary of Corporate Services at the President’s Office Hussain Amir to manage the transition on behalf of the President’s Office.
A directive issued on October 5 by President Solih instructed government offices and institutions to prepare for any changes to the administrative structure and senior personnel during the transition to a new government. President Solih also urged all appointees to continue performing their duties until the end of his current presidential term.
