Members of The Democrats to hold gov't positions

The Democrats has stated that its members will be appointed to various positions within the new government.

At a press conference, Interim Chairperson Hassan Latheef said that The Democrats will actively participate in the administration of President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu going beyond advisory roles. As such, he said that party members will be appointed to various positions to contribute directly to the functioning of the government.

The Office of the President-elect has affirmed its commitment to establishing an inclusive government. It stated that it has no intention of removing capable individuals based on their party affiliations, adding that competent and responsible individuals will continue to serve in the government, regardless of their party membership.

During the press conference, Chairperson Latheef said The Democrats will hold a primary election for those who wish to run for mayor of Male' City on the party ticket. In addition, The Democrats has decided to form branches to strengthen its management, and the opportunity to form branches will be opened to members once the rules are announced.
