President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has directed government agencies to compile and furnish information to the Office of the President-elect during the government transition.
In a directive issued by the President's Office, the government is tasked with taking measures to ready itself for upcoming changes in administrative structure, functions, and senior positions within its agencies. As such, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has urged all individuals appointed by him to prepare relevant documents and carry out their assigned duties and responsibilities until the conclusion of his current presidential term.
Government agencies are specifically required to gather information in 14 categories including details on administrative structures, ministry budgets, laws and regulations, ministry services, software usage, project agreements, treaties, and comprehensive progress reports. In addition, agencies are expected to compile a list of individuals appointed to political positions along with their respective constituencies and pertinent details. Information regarding legal, financial, and administrative challenges in various areas is also to be included. The Ministry of Finance has been specifically directed by President Solih to gather details on the state budget.
Under the supervision of agency heads, the collected information is to be transmitted to the Office of the President-elect through the Government E-Letter Management System (GEMS). Documents will be sent to the Office of the President-elect upon written request.
The directive mandates that crucial information about government agencies be prepared for the president-elect to ensure a smooth power transfer that does not disrupt government operations or interrupt services provided by the government to the citizens.
