President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has held discussions to enhance the bilateral relations with Pakistan and Bangladesh. The discussions were held during separate meetings with the ambassadors of both countries. The meetings were also attended by Vice President-elect Hussain Mohamed Latheef.
During his meeting with the High Commissioner of Pakistan to the Maldives Vice Admiral (retired) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani, President-elect Muizzu exchanged views on areas of mutual interest and discussed potential opportunities to further enhance bilateral relations. High Commissioner Gilani noted the similarities between the Maldives and Pakistan and assured that Pakistan will provide full cooperation in various fields for the development of the Maldives.
During the meeting with the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the Maldives Rear Admiral S.M. Abul Kalam Azad, President-elect Muizzu noted the close existing bilateral relations with the two countries and expressed hope that the relationship would be further strengthened and expanded during his administration. Ambassador Azad assured that Bangladesh will provide its full assistance and cooperation in various fields for the development of the Maldives.
