The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) has urged that no alterations be made to the employment structure of companies during the imminent transition to a new government.
In a recent statement, PCB has outlined specific procedures for government offices, state agencies, institutions, and government-owned companies to adhere to during the transition period. As such, companies are instructed to refrain from initiating new projects or undertaking actions that requires substantial expenditure. In addition, companies are directed not to modify rules and regulations that could impact the company's revenue, including changes in the payment of salaries and allowances to employees.
PCB has also urged companies to provide essential information to the transitional committee and facilitate access to pertinent documents and information. The boards of companies are specifically requested to prioritise the interests of the public during the transition period and to make decisions in a responsible and transparent manner.
The President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed the Chairperson of the People's National Congress (PNC) Abdul Raheem Abdulla to lead the transitional committee.
