PNC appoints President-elect Muizzu as its President

The People's National Congress (PNC) has appointed President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu as its President.

During a meeting, PNC also elected Vice President-elect Hussain Mohamed Latheef as its Vice President. Latheef was a member of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) until his appointment as the running mate of PNC presidential candidate Dr. Muizzu. The PNC constitution dictates that only a member can contest the presidential election on behalf of the party.

Also during the meeting, former President of PNC Abdul Raheem Abdulla was elected as the party's Chairperson. He has recently been appointed as Director General of Transition to represent President-elect Muizzu at the transitional committee.
