Prepared to be accountable to every gov't action: President

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that there is no reason for him to leave the country after the transfer of government, contrary to certain claims, as he is prepared to be accountable to every action his administration has taken.

At a post-election press conference, President Solih said that every decision he made was in accordance with the law and that he is prepared to take account of any actions taken by his administration. He expressed confidence in facing inquiries regarding government decisions made during his tenure.

Additionally, President Solih addressed the allegations made during his tenure, including the maritime border dispute, the presence of Indian military personnel, and agreements signed by the government. He said the allegations hold no merit as he had made every decision in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations. He also said that the signed agreements were discussed and formulated by the previous government and that he has publicised all relevant information, adding that the documents will be available to the next administration.

Furthermore, President Solih said that he will hold discussions with the incoming administration regarding the developmental initiatives he commenced. He also said that he wishes for the next administration to resume the development projects and to uphold the principles of good governance.
