MTCC halts atoll ferry services on voting day

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has halted public ferry services in the atolls on September 30, the day of the second round of the presidential election.

Ferry services has been temporarily halted in the atolls and will resume normal operations on October 1. However, MTCC has assured that public ferry services in Thaa Atoll, Laamu Atoll, and Meemu Atoll, and Zone 6 will continue without interruption along with the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) high-speed ferry services. A similar decision was made on the first round of the presidential election.

MTCC has expressed its apologies to customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary halt in public ferry services in the atolls. The company has encouraged customers to contact its hotline at 1650 for further information or assistance.
