Dr. Muizzu pledges Thinadhoo city status and quality development services

Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the Presidential Candidate of the People's National Congress (PNC), has unveiled ambitious plans for the development of Thinadhoo, with the promise of granting it city status and providing quality development services.

Dr. Muizzu announced that, if elected, his government would elevate Thinadhoo to city status once all the requisite services, as mandated by the law, are in place. This includes upgrading unfinished roads to modern standards, establishing a comprehensive land-use plan for the area, enhancing infrastructure, and transforming Kaadehdhoo Airport into a fully-fledged international airport.

Moreover, Dr. Muizzu pledged to elevate the existing Thinadhoo hospital to the status of a tertiary hospital, capable of providing a wide range of treatments, including specialized care for disabled individuals. He also expressed his commitment to promoting sports activities for the youth and announced plans to establish a vocational training center in Thinadhoo in collaboration with the Maldives National University (MNU).

The declaration of Thinadhoo as a city, made by the President on August 30th of the previous year, was celebrated by Muizzu, who extended his congratulations to the residents.

During his first-round campaign visit to Thinadhoo, Dr. Muizzu had promised to elevate the status of the city, and he is now reaffirming that commitment.

Furthermore, as part of his broader campaign tour of the southern atolls, Dr. Muizzu also announced major housing projects for Fuvahmulah and Thinadhoo City. He emphasised the need to address housing concerns and unveiled plans to implement 1,000 housing units in Thinadhoo and 500 housing units in Fuvahmulah.

Dr. Muizzu also highlighted the potential for economic activities in both cities, particularly in the realm of integrated ecotourism projects. Recognizing the importance of boosting tourism, fisheries, agriculture, and construction sectors, he assured that his economic policy would prioritise these areas.

In conclusion, Dr. Muizzu reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises and working towards the comprehensive development of Thinadhoo and other regions under his leadership.
