The Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has launched its Instant Account Opening Service.
The service allows customers to open accounts instantly upon application. The new service, introduced for the first time in the Maldives, is an enhancement to the bank's online account opening service introduced in June this year.
Chief Finance Officer at MIB Ali Wasif highlighted the bank's commitment to providing easy access to services for customers worldwide. He also said customers can activate and start using their accounts immediately from anywhere with the new service.
Meanwhile, the Head of Marketing and Distribution at MIB Hussain Alim Shakoor explained that the service will be accessible through the MIB portal and the eFaas application for added security. He said it is exclusively available to Maldivian citizens aged 18 and above. He also said that customers will receive their account number within seconds of submitting their account opening request. In addition, he said that customers can use the service to order and receive debit cards and register for internet banking.
