Vice President Faisal Naseem has inaugurated the new headquarters of the Ooredoo Maldives.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Vice President Naseem detailed the administration's key initiatives to propel the country's digital economy. These include the oneGov platform, designed to consolidate government services through a modern digital interface, and the eFaas mobile application, which serves as the national digital identification (ID) system.
Additionally, Vice President Naseem highlighted the launch of the Ocean Connect Maldives-India Asia Express (OCM-IAX) submarine cable system in Hulhumale', marking a significant stride in the country's journey to becoming a technology hub. He also noted the remarkable progress made in making broadband and mobile internet more accessible and affordable under the current administration's efforts.
Furthermore, Vice President Naseem acknowledged the pivotal role of Ooredoo Maldives in the country's digital transformation journey and emphasised the company's unwavering commitment to fostering the growth of the country's digital economy. In recognition of his support, Ooredoo Maldives honoured the Vice President with a commemorative plaque during the ceremony.
Also at the ceremony, Managing Director of Ooredoo Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo said the Maldives holds a special place in the heart of Ooredoo Group and that the new headquarters is a testament to the deep-rooted commitment and strategic investments in the Maldives. He said it signifies Ooredoo's unwavering belief in the potential of the country and the company's dedication to fostering digitalisation. He added that Ooredoo remains committed to bringing world-class technologies, driving progress, and contributing to the country's digital future.
The new headquarters of the Ooredoo Maldives is a technologically advanced facility designed to stimulate productivity and innovation. It is located near Hulhumale' Central Park and features an Ooredoo Experience Centre, a Club Premier Lounge for customers, and high-performance office spaces with modern amenities.
The building incorporates several environmentally sustainable features to minimise heat transmission and reduce power consumption. The building is also equipped with a fresh air supply system, a lighting management system, solar panels, and a rainwater harvesting system aimed at lowering costs. In addition, advanced safety measures such as fire-rated doors and glass as well as automated fire safety systems guarantee the highest level of safety for occupants.
