HDC has introduced UrbanGlide electric scooters in Hulhumale'.
HDC stated that the UrbanGlide Centre established at Central Park in Hulhumale' will offer e-scooters, promoting an eco-friendly environment and community engagement, from September 24. A total of four e-scooters are currently available to the public, with registration required through the UrbanGlide application.
Manager of Smart Solutions at HDC Ahmed Naufal Abdul Hadi noted plans to expand the number of e-scooters based on feedback, emphasising the project's pilot nature.
HDC stated that e-scooters will be stationed at designated docks and can be charged there. Roadways feature marked zones for e-scooter use and are identified by blue lines. Leaving the area will trigger alarms and halt the scooter. Monitoring of scooter movement is centralised at the UrbanGlide Centre.
